Zmacsync, Bluetooth, Isync?

I'm about ready to pick up my next Z and I'm wondering if anyone has used zMacSync with a Zaurus over bluetooth.  Has anyone done bluetooth syncing to the mac using iSync/zMacSync?

ZMacSync uses a ssh connection to go into the Zaurus. This works through any IP connection you have between your Zaurus and your Mac. USB and WLAN hast been tested.

It does not use Bluetooth OBEX, SyncML etc. and it does not use iSync (but you can still iSync via Bluetooth to a mobile phone and ZMacSync to the Zaurus).

If it will sync over ssh, I can safely assume it uses keys?  Is this thing command line based (sorry for my questions, but I don't have a mac yet)?  I'd like to run it out of cron to do automatic syncing.

yes, it uses the ssh encryption - depending on the set-up. You can either use use password authentication or install a pair of keys on the Mac and the Zaurus (which needs some background knowledge on ssh).

No, it is - in Mac tradition - not command line based. Just the internals use a command line based tool ssh. It provides an "autosync" mode where it tries to sync every 60 seconds as long as a connection persists. But: users have reported that this is not extremely stable and it seems to depend on the physical connection (USB or WLAN) quality.

So, I would recommend that you just try it as soon as you own a Mac and a Zaurus. It is shareware which allows an unlimited free trial.
