Wifi Connect Rejects Pwd
« on: January 10, 2005, 07:29:05 pm »
I make a tcp/ip lan connection to my provider hotspotzz.com and enter my usr name and pwd click on enter and get rejected.

I've been on the phone to tech support when I was at the hotspot and followed there steps to get connected.

We decided that I was using the correct usr name and password. They said that if I got to the login screen they could see no reason why I could not get logged in.

I was asked what browser and I told them Opera 7.25 and I was running embedded linux on a Zaurus SL6000L PDA and they said fine.

I told them I would ask the Zaurus users and get back to them.

Does Opera cache web pages.

If you can connect to the network, and browse to a login website it seems like you should be able to login. I would try typing the password in a text editor a few times, sometimes the keyboard can be a little ackward and even being very careful you may be making typos.

As for cache, I don't think I've seen any Opera folder that had temp webpages in it. Opera sucks enough space away as it is. That's a common IE fix, something goes wrong delete everything, and hope for the best   I'd more suspicious of cookies before cache. Mess around in the options see if there's any clear or clean options.

What actually happens when it doesn't login? Does it come back with a new website that says there has been a incorrect username and password given?

Have you been able to try it with a laptop and observed how the login system works? One thing I've found is that Opera has some issues with certain sites for instance that use pop up (my Road Runner's web mail system doesn't quite work well with Opera for instance).

Thanks, everyone. It was the password.
