i recentrly received a zaurus c700 from a friend of japan, but he didnt sended the cables, so i have to made my own charger cable. first i made the usb charger cable, it works, but my external usb hub (it has his own power) gets a little hot, so i decided to modify a nokia charger, i added a 470uF cap then a LM7805, the another cap and this output to the zaurus.
The Lm7805 gets a little hot, but it is working ok, i checked and when it reached the 4.99v the zaurus stop charguing and the LM7805 is almost cold. But i realize that if i turn the zaurus on, it starts charging again, so i think that the nokia charguer (~750ma) is not giving the sufficient current.
If you want to use an emergency cell phone charger just buy one, but add a capacitor in order to get a really DC voltaje, because this kind of chagers uses a DC-Dc convertors and his output oscilates. and after the capacitor add a 5v regulator, and it will be working.
