Help I Don't Understand (i'm Spanish)
« on: January 12, 2005, 03:46:01 am »
Hello everybody, I'm spanish. Yesterday I installed my first openzaurus rom (3.5.2). I installed the zImage 64-0, but I have a "problem", when try to transfers files (the sync problem was resolved) the Z tell me that I don't have enough space, but if I see in the info tab I can see that I have 34Mb free.
In the package manager>Actions>Setup>targets  I see this:

cf          In the compact flash I have enough space
ram       Here I only have 156 KB
root       Here the same (156KB)
sd         Here the same (156KB), but I don't have any card of this type

For more information, in the info tab I'm seeing:

internal storage /dev/root   14464 KB, free 156 KB
internal memory                31204 KB   How can I use this memory ??

Could help me someone?

Sorry for my english

Thanks

Rubén

¡Ésa es muy bien, mi español todavía aspira!

But that's beside the point

What you're looking at is space that's available for installing programs. This isn't the same as space for storing programs. You need some place to put the .ipk's before installing them. Do you have a flash card for your Z? Put it on there and then use the package manager to install it.

Yes, I have 2 cf cards, but I want to install some libraries in the internal memory, cause I've free 31MB.
I tried to create a new install destination in the settings tab of package manager and mounting in /var , but when I install some package in this destination I can't show anything new in applications tab.

...another question... it's possible to put directly files in CF card from intellisync ?? This is my great problem

Another problem that I'm having is when I try to sync Outlook 2003 with the Z, the sync is succesfully, but I don't see any change in my Z applications.

Thanks a lot

Now I'm trying to install qpdf2_2.2.1-r0_arm.ipkg. In first place I was having problems with dependences, but it's solved. The problem is that I don't know where the package install, and I don't have any icon of qpdf in my app tab.

thanks

try 'ipkg-link add qpdf2'. it will try to find the package for you and link it if it isn't already. You may need to restart opie to get the icon to appear.
I don't know how well qpdf is working at the moment.

Or start qpdf from a shell. Fire up konsole, type in qpdf, hit enter.

As for intellisync, I've never used it so I don't know. I just use the card reader that came with my emachine to store programs.

Isn't Outlook just for mail? I can't help you here either, I don't use Windows much.

For finding out where files eventually end up when you install them, Ive added this to my "mc.ext" file for "Midnight Commander".

# ipk
regex /\.ipk$
<tab>View=%view{ascii} cp %f /tmp/mc-root/foo.tar.gz; cd /tmp/mc-root; tar zxf /tmp/mc-root/foo.tar.gz; tar tzf /tmp/mc-root/data.tar.gz; rm /tmp/mc-root/*

<tab> being replaced by the TAB key.

Save & exit, restart mc and you should be all set. You do have to restart mc for the changes to take effect.

Now you can hi-lite the .ipk that you are interested in and hit <Cancel> <3> (that's the "Cancel" button and the "3" button). This opens the file for viewing which lets you know where things will be stored.

Note:
Qpdf2 from Openzaurus 3.5.2 segfaults. The only Solution is to start it:
Code: [Select]
qpdf -d 0You can put the extension also in your *.desktop file manually.
Or hold a littlebit longer on the icon, then you see the properties and put the argument -d 0 there.

Hello again, I have a great problem but I can't find solutions. I'm trying to sync my Z  OZ 3.5.2 with intellisync, but I can't. I was reading many posts about this problem, and the solutions maybe make a symlink /root /home/root. I've tried this but I'm not lucky.

My Z syncs, but I can't see nothing from PIM, everything is empty.

Help me please!

Thanks
