Ok well i got the files copied. But it still does not work. It flips the screen to verticle does the wait thing ... then flips it to horizontal for about a second does the wait thing and then back to the "desktop".

Anyideas?

No, I don't have a C3000 to check it. In the first page of this thread read all of Bertram Wooster's post... he has it working on a C3000.

all you needed to do was to ask jeeves
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
hehe...

after all i wasn't too happy with the slightly messy installation (i don't like error messages - even when things seem to work afterwards).
i expected libsdl-image to fix this problem, but it didn't (no libpng... after installation in usr/lib).
this morning i found a better (and more recent) alternative to the libpng from my last post:
[a href=\"http://ssel.vub.ac.be/Members/DennisWagelaar/download/zaurus/libpng12_1.2.5-10_arm.ipk]http://ssel.vub.ac.be/Members/DennisWagela....2.5-10_arm.ipk[/url]
works perfectly. i just wonder whether this was/is a problem of c3000 or rather of the libsdl.
at the moment i'm using
libsdl1.2.6-zports5
libsdl-mixer1.2.5-cvs1
are there other versions which are more recommendable?

this actually brings me to my next problem: no midi in openttd (music files are in /data and track names are shown in the game - sound is perfectly ok though). i thought libsdl-mixer should take care of that, but somehow it doesn't.
has anyone (maybe jeeves  ) got an idea on how to fix that problem? many thanks already

Hmm Tried Both the libpng files you mentioned. But im still getting the same error as before:

./openttd: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory

Anyone got any ideas? Ive also tried libpng_1.2.8-1_mipsel.ipk

I get the same error with that.

Please help.

Still a newbie ... but learning! =)

Actually, su traditionally means "set user". Hence the reason that you can do su <username>

Having trouble installing on 6000.  Stupkid's ipk wouldn't install to cf:
Code: [Select]
Configuring openttd-engine...chown: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/openttd/: No such file or directory
So I created that directory...install reported OK, but wouldn't run:
Code: [Select]
bash-2.05$ ipkg -d cf install openttd-engine_0.3.5-2_arm.ipk
Unpacking openttd-engine...Done.
Configuring openttd-engine...Done.
bash-2.05$ cd ../../opt/QtPalmtop/bin/
bash-2.05$ ls
openttd
bash-2.05$ ls -l
-rwxr-xr-x    1 zaurus   qpe           106 Jan 20 17:13 openttd
bash-2.05$ ./openttd
./openttd: ./openttd: not found

I created a symbolic link to the data dir on my cf card...but I doubt that's the issue.

Any ideas?

... I even can give you a direct link to an abandonware site ... [div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=66750\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
I just wanted to say thanks for posting a link to this site.   You've brought back many happy memories of games like Castle Wolfenstein, Airborne Ranger, Into the Eagle's Nest, Star Control, Zork, etc.  This is an excellent site!!!

I've downloaded the source for DOSBox, now I just need to find a way to compile the sucker for my Zaurus.

OK...I got ot to work.  I installed using the gui from the feed.

Very nice!  Does the multiplayer option work?  Does this require a server, or is it a peer to peer kind of ting?

Ok so after using it for a while ive noticed several things.

1. i can not load any saved scenario's that were on the windows openttd.
2. i can not load any saved games that were originally saved on my pc.

I keep getting an error which says.
"Game Load Failed"

Anyone had this error ? know how to fix it?

The learning Newbie. =)
