Has anybody installed OpenBSD/zaurus on SL-C3000?
http://www.openbsd.org/zaurus.html
I would like to know about its performance in viewing PDFs. Acceptably fast? Got PDA's "instant on" feature? Does email work on Evolution well?
i have not tested it yet because it's hard to have my Zaurus working with email and calendar and so on on one side and testing things on the other side.
What i can tell from my experience with debian in X/QT and full debian is :
- evolution is quite too big for the C3k screen. I really prefer using thunderbird
- performances are really better in full debian than in debian in X/QT so i believe it would be the same for bsd. The problem with X/QT is that Qtopia starts and the first things it does is filling the RAM with qpeserver and "fast load" applications.
- as i was saying to a friend, to install full debian on Z, you need to have a "linux driving license with debian option and 'excellent' mention".
=> with X/QT you have all support of your cards, ON/OFF, backlight, keyboard, sound , name resolution and so on
=> with full debian you have to do everything by hand, and find tips on forums to help you and frankly you'll have to spend big time
and from what i can see, the howto for openbsd on Z is not as detailed as the on for debian...
