Z 5500 Syncing with RedHat 9
« on: June 30, 2003, 10:08:49 pm »
I just got my Zaurus and it works fine on my WinXP box, but since I spend 90% of my time in Linux, I\'d like to get it working there.  I\'ve got a fresh install of RedHat 9 and can\'t get the usb0 interface to come up to save my life.  I\'m certain the solution must be simple, but it evades me.

Please help!

Hi...
I got Red Hat 9 and zaurus 5500.
You can find usefull information for connectivity and sync there:

http://docs.zaurus.com

You can also download the news linux kernel 2.6;  you can recompile it for usbnet support.

There are actually two good options if you run the KDE pims on the desktop side - multisync (just released in the 0.81 version, I\'m testing it) and kitchensync, which has some annoyances, but works too. Multisync can be found at multisync.sourceforge.net, and kitchensync - well, google for it.

everything you need to get you up and running should be here:

http://docs.zaurus.com/index.php?id=lc_redhat_5600

please let me know of any issues you have with the instructions there.
