Expansion Port
« on: January 26, 2005, 01:37:52 pm »
I've had my 6k for about a month, just getting used to it, really. I have decided that the sharp "sled" isn't really something i'd use....However, there is that lovely connection slot for the "sled" just sitting there with no connections.
What can connect to it? Are there specs for pin-out to build cables to connect? what could be connected? or to make a different sort of sled, or other hack? car mount for power gpsand storage? or maybe a spare batt, 1.5" drive sled? with bluetooth?
maybe just another 'backward ' cf slot?
There seem to be real possibilities to be exploited here.... and I haven't found any discussion in this forum.

Expansion Port

I agree, it's a shame to let that additional port go to waste.

Has anyone found a way to use the expansion slot with anything other than a sled?

Has anyone found out what other devices might just use the same connector, if there are any, or found a connector of that design?
