Help! Usb Between C700 And Winxp
« on: January 27, 2005, 01:06:34 am »
I have been using sharp's software to sync between my sl-c700 and winxp normally untill I tried to install openzaurus 3.5.2 on my c700.
I have tried for a day according to many methods mentioned here but still no progress. I saw some people solved it after all but so sorrowful this thing didnot happen to me.
I tried reloading the net_fd.o module as https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7028, first time windows popup message to inform to install driver for sl-7500 (yes, there shows 7500 not c700), and I inserted sharp's CD but failed. After this time XP has no response however I reloaded again.
Second I tried install Qtopia desktop 1.7 but still didn't work. Of course I tried to fill IP adress on my c700 using 192.168.129.201/255.255.255.0 or 192.168.1.206/255.255.255.0 but the Sync button is always invisible. And I can't start usbd0 interface in the GUI of "network". It pops "Starting interface failed".
I also changed Security->Sync to fit Qtopia 1.7. But all above can't work for me. What's wrong with my openzaurus? I hope I don't need to re-install with sharp rom.

Help! Usb Between C700 And Winxp

I am so tired and disappointed when I continued searching sync method for my zaurus and failed and failed. Now XP can recognize zaurus as "SL series Ver3 (NDIS 5) #2". Then I got usbd0 active on my Z.
So I went on setting usbd0 on Z as
ip:     192.168.129.201
mask:255.255.255.0
gate:  192.168.129.1

and "SL series Ver3 (NDIS 5) #2" on XP as
ip:     192.168.129.1
mask:255.255.255.0

Because XP has connected to default wingate 192.168.1.1, so I did't set the last gate as 192.168.129.1

But both Z and XP can only ping themselves, not other side.
I also type
ipconfig /all
netstat -rn
on XP and
ifconfig -a
route
on Z and all seems normal.
I am a really newbie so I go forward so hard. Any one please guide on me and you are appreciated.

Thank lardman for your kind hint. There is Trend Micro Anti Virus 2004 on my XP and it truly provide personal firewall function. I set to allow all TCP/UDP with all port and I even shut down Trend Micro but still can't ping each other.
I forgot to say, when XP ping Z, it says "Request time out",
and when Z ping XP, it keeps in idle so I had to remove power to shutdown Z. I wonder where is Ctrl key in openzaurus?
BTW, the usb driver have two sub-folders: network and serial. I have tried to install both and from the pointview of XP, both of them seems no problem. Of course, neither avails for ping. Now I remove driver of "serial" and install that of "network". Some kind people tell me the difference between the two drivers?
