Linux On Sony Vaio?
« on: January 31, 2005, 10:37:02 am »
The vaio was over a grand and a half at conics, but sony is now selling it here for under $300.  Too bad it isn't a linux device.

I'm now an iphone user and use my zaurii as serial terminals, perl and shell scripting and when I need 640x480 screens

Uhm.. I think that price is just for the battery. The page you are referring has bad links to the prices; when clicking over a price, the selected item is a battery, not the unit itself.

What a pitty; I was rushing to buy one, used to their $2000 price tag.

BTW, the u750 can run linux. Google for it.
sl-c750, archos av580, socket cf [bt, wifi, modem], noname cf lan, audiovox rtm800 gsm-gprs cf, rom: sharp -> oz3.5.3 -> cacko -> oz3.5.4.1
