I get this only after having used kino, for some reason after I close kino it resets my "Dim after" setting to checked. The check box isn't checked but I have to check it and uncheck it to return to the never dim status
God that thing was irritating. Thanks for finding what it was.
Kino is definitely going in the right direction, but some quirks like this and the globally bound keys are a real killer.

I agree - kino is definitely improving with every release and closing in on being fully stable and useful. Maslovsky knows about global key problem and already indicated he will fix that soon. Hopefully this dim issue as well since these 2 problems make Z almost feel like mswin (you know the feeling - you run something and after that nothing related to it (as far as you know ) runs as it used too...).
I do wish however that we can get the new mp3 tags implemented in kino as well (I know it's mplayer where this should logically be done but somehow I have a bad feeling it will take much longer for mplayer developers to add this to mplayer than it would for Maslovski to hack something together and add it to kino).
