Web Browser Problems
« on: February 18, 2005, 11:51:40 am »
I seem to be missing a library. When I run konqueror from the command line, I get,

./konqueror: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

I did a quick check of the OpenZaurus feed and a quick google search. Both turned up nothing. Where can I get libstdc++.so.6?

I mentioned Opera in the title. I don't currently have it installed and removed it before I figured out where the binaries are located. When I tried to run it from the Applications tab, it gave the same behavior as konqueror. Both will appear to start, but quit before they can do anything. The icon will show up at the bottom of the screen like they are running, but disappear after less than a second.

I got that taken care of. Opera still fails, but it looks like a linking problem. Since I have no source, I'll have to settle for Konqueror. The problem now is that if I hit an icon in the menu bar, the Zaurus locks up. I have to hit reset to do anything else. When I was installing it, it claimed that it was unable to resolve the dependency pcre 4.4. I installed libpcre4.4 from the OZ feed before installing Konqueror, also from the OZ feed. Any ideas?

Maybe you could try opera, there are various topics about it on these boards and how to get them working.
Opera 6
Opera 7.3
Opera 7.55

Those should get you started.

Thanks. I hope that works. I've tried Opera, but I get a problem that looks like a linking issue. Maybe one of these links will fix it. I'll try it tomorrow.

I no longer have any web browser troubles. I installed Watapon and all of my problems went away. Thanks for the help.
