Hi All,

I\'m Dave (aka. Lumi).  My Zaurus SL-5500 and I have been together since April 2002.  I\'ve owned a bunch of Palms and compatibles but the Z is my favorite handheld at the moment warts and all.

Currently I am running OZ 3.2 awaiting 3.3.  I may take a quick detour to Sharp\'s v3.1 ROM but I doubt I\'ll stay for long.

I am a computer consultant mostly dealing with small business administration and networking.  Work is slow at the moment so if anyone hears of any opportunities please let me know.....

There are a few of us Z users who swap tips at the local Linux User Group (OCLUG)  http://oclug.org.  I try to answer any of the Zaurus questions that come up on the mail list.  There\'s also a few folks at CerritosLUG http://cerritoslug.org.  I also try to show up at the LA Palm User Group when I can -- that way I can remain \"grounded\" by a mainstream PDA.

I\'m a Zaurus SL-5500 owner of two months.  Previously to my Zaurus I had a Palm VIIx and before that a Windows CE device.

I\'ve added a bunch of goodies to my Zaurus, including a Linksys WCF-12 WiFi CF card, a CF 10-mps Ethenet card, a CF 56K modem, a 1 Gb IBM microdrive, a wireless Pocketop keyboard, a couple of different external battery packs, a second cradle, and even a car charger.

Yes, I\'m an addict.....

I work as a computer technician for the City of Encinitas here in San Diego county.

I\'m a 5500 owner for about a year. Got mine on sale at Linuxworld in San Francisco last year.  (I also have a Palm IIIxe that I still use occasionally)

I have a Linksys WCF12 and SMC 2642W for WiFi, and a Crucial 128MB SD card for data storage. Also a couple of 256MB CF cards and a 340MB MicroDrive for MP3 storage (and for use with my Canon PowerShot G1 camera).

I\'m a sales engineer for Defywire, a company that sells mobile middleware. Sharp is our first device partner, so everyone in our office uses them!  I was quite happy when I walked in on my first day and saw Z\'s everywhere.  Can\'t wait for the 5600s we\'re supposed to be getting.  I also just got a Sprint PCS CF card to play with; waiting for the account to be set up.  Will be nice to be wireless even away from hotspots!

I live in Carlsbad CA (north San Diego county) with my wife and twin 6 year old girls.  I\'m a member of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of San Diego, and also tinker with woodworking in my \"copious\" spare time!

Hi all.

I\'ve had my Zaurus SL-5500 for about one month now.  I bought it used off eBay.  I\'m enjoying it so much I sold my Visor Prism and have committed myself to learning everything I can about it.

I\'ve added a D-Link CF WiFi card, a 256MB SD card, and a 64MB CF card for flashing.  I\'m also replacing my first plastic cover.  I wonder how many of those I\'ll have to buy?

I attend the So Cal Linux User Group.  I don\'t know if anyone there owns a Zaurus but it\'s a great place to learn and share.

To pay the bills I work as a Systems Analyst for a local hospital.

Roughly the same length of ownership as me. I\'ve had my SL-5500 since mid-April \'03. I have a buddy who works for the City of Encinitas. Small world! I live in Vista (North County of San Diego) and work in information technology at CSU San Marcos.

Running proto\'s 1.2.2 ROM but waiting for his next release 8). Bought a couple of extra CF cards, mostly for my digicam but the 128MB is living in my Z for now to hold some mp3\'s. A Fry\'s Electronics just opened near my work which has proven to be a bad thing for my wallet :?.
Picked up a Netgear MA701 802.11b CF card and a wireless router so that I could access e-mail, etc. sitting on the couch. Just ordered hi-speed internet so I did kind of get ahead of myself with the purchases but nothing like being prepared.

I dabble in UNIX at work but since I got a Z I\'ve been motivated to learn more about Linux. Picking a distro out of hat, so to speak, I decided to give Gentoo Linux a whirl after reading an article in a UK Linux mag. Good thing I got that extra HDD installed (again, I got ahead of myself) so that I can make a partition for just this purpose.

I play rugby for a local men\'s club, the North County Gurkhas. Taking it easy for now since I had wrist surgery 6 weeks ago. Ways to go before the season starts again so it all works out. We finished #3 in the state for our division so it was a good season.

Hi.

New Zaurus (C760) user, hope to find like minded for romantic walks in the park, etc.  Sounds like I\'m in good company here, as I\'ve also owned everything that came before.  Z is the favorite, hands down.

In real life, I do a little of everything centered around information security.  I\'m out of OC.

Maybe we\'ll all get together some day to compare notes or something?

Doug, here!!  I am an AS400 computer consultant.  Been in data processing since the beginning....well, for over 20 years.
The Zaurus is new to me, I used to be a Psion user for years.  I use many CF cards for MP3 music (512 meg, 256 meg, etc) as well as a 256 meg SD card for documents, etc. Primarily I use it for Address Book and  Calendar functions plus MP3 playing.
I have not done a thing with most of the software that came with the Zaurus but, I would like to get a GPS function for it.

Greetings and salutations.

5600 owner for a couple of months and I\'ve been playing around with all the asundry ROMs.  One of these days I may settle down.

Standard setup with a slew of CF cards ranging from 4MB-512MB.  A token SD card since, as the zaurus is the only thing I have that utilizes such media.  Picked up the Sharp camera for $20 of ebay (about the right cost based on the image quality).  Only thing I need to snag to make me happy is a decent case and WiFi card.

waiting for my 3100, was a palm t3 user, but palm is going the way of the dodo bird, and i am tired of waiting for some innovations to come out, they are way to slow, so decided to switch over, I am also a programmer/technician by trade. So maybe tweaking the zaurus will be fun, keep my mind fresh.

Howdy All,

I am Matt and live in San Diego.  I am not a periodontist, but work as a programmer for a very small database solutions company that allows me to surf duing work!

I have owned an SL6000 for about 6 months (used from Amazon for about $300) and am hooked.  I mainly use it for PIM and reading.  Previous handhelds were both Sony Clie models.

I still use the stock Sharp rom (I'm a little too scared to switch and don't have a burning need to) and my latest battle has been to get znester up and running.

Wow! Been a memeber here for a while, but never intro'ed myself in this User Group!

My name is Russell and I'm living in Cerritos.  Social Worker by background, though now I work doing assistive technology consultations and training.

PDA life started with a Sharp device purchased in Japan sometime in 1995.  Moved on to Visor Deluxe sometime after that (well...when it first came out), and got my 5500 when the Visor crapped out (used, from ebay).  Last year I picked up the 6000 when the CF card on the 5500 stopped working...it's a beautiful thing!

I've been playing with Linux since the late 1.x version of the kernel.  Got more serious recently when I installed Gentoo, and now the only Window in my home is the wife's.

Cresho; thanks for the icons!
