OK it's generally just a question of getting the right size, type and gender of connections.
There are two sizes of USB connector - standard and Mini.
There are two genders of course.
There are two basic types of connector A and B...
A type is what devices normally present and if you have a PC or laptop then you will normally have a A type Female as the host port (device presents Male). (rectangular connectors)
B if you have a USB hub then type B is almost certainly how you connect a cable to the Hub from your host, this is a sort of square connector (in section), Normally you would use an A-to-B cable to connect from your host to your Hub then all the devices would connect into the A ports presented by the Hub.
In Mini format strictly the ports should still be called A and B, sometimes you find A being described as 5 pin and B as 4 pin though.
So for a Zaurus host cable suitable for the 3000 you would need...
Mini USB A (5 pin) Male to Standard USB A Female
This would present a socket comparable with the host port on your desktop/laptop.
You probably want to specify a short cable as most devices will supply their own cable anyway and you really don't want to end up with something that is too long. - If you were going ot a Hub then you could use the standard A to B cable off your short adapter cable.
