Shirtpocket Troubles?
« Reply #15 on: March 28, 2005, 03:14:20 pm »
I ordered a C3000 from shirtpocket on 10/02/05. It is now obviously 28/03/05... so i have been waiting nearly 7 weeks for delivery. I have sent them numerous emails, and rang everyday for 2 weeks solid, without one reply from either. My order still says Accepted and there is nothing i can do to contact them. I have now had to launch a fraud claim with my credit card company against them, after advice legal advice, to either receive my goods or get my money back asap. This is a huge disappointment and i would advise anyone considering buying from them to stay well clear. I have bought off the net a lot for many years and have never experienced anything as bad as this. A friend of mine also ordered a C3000 the same time as me and is in the same situation. It is a lot of money and they could find themselves in a deep trouble if they do not get their act together. I will be buying and coverting myself from conics.net once i recieve claim from card company. Thought it was my duty to report this to the community to prevent any other honest customer that might be have considering handing over their hard earnt money to them. Will keep you informed.

I have left shirtpocket out of the reseller list in the Zaurus articles on purpose. Until they clean up their act, they're not getting a word.

Doesn't the UK have credit card protection laws like in the U.S, where you can get your money back if a product isn't delivered in a reasonable time frame?

I use Barclaycard who do have full protection for such events... *thankfully*
Including my friends order and mine, that is 1000GBP ($2000) shirtpocket have disappeared with.

I will also be informing the local police of my dealings, on advise of my solicitors.
Very unfortune circumstances =(

That's a terrible story. Because of all the bad reports of Shirtpocket I ordered my Zaurus C3000 from www.trisoft.de in Germany. Ordered Thursday before Easter. Shipped today - can you believe that they email you a .avi file of your order being packed!!! The price is down too, now only 798 Euros (their website hasn't been updated) and also includes a USB host cable (worth 15 euros).

I hope you get your money back. I can't recommend Trisoft enough.

It will be converted yes. Won't arrive for a couple of days. They put the Ko/Pi and some other stuff on it too apparently. I was quite impressed they include the USB host cable for free too. They're quite tricky to get here in the UK I have read.

Wow - I'm glad I have someone picking mine up for me in Japan! 798 Euros is almost $1300 Canadian - More than what my C3000 and C1000 are going to cost together. (62000Y/$700Can for the C3000, 43000Y/$485Can for the C1000)

I'm not bagging on Trisoft -  I know you get a lot of support, etc. Living on that side of the pond must be pretty rough on you guys sometimes...

I used switch instead of a credit card, I'm guessing you don'g get the same sort of cover. ShritPocket are about to get a V nasty Email and if they don't reply by the weekend i will lodge a complant.

Not Happy at all.

I'm in the same boat, paid with a debit card    on the 11th of March for a new C3000 + some accessories. I got an email comfirming the order, the money left my account some days later. On their website, the status of my order showed as acknowledged. After 2 weeks of still showing acknowledged, I sent an email asking for an estimated delivery time (I understand they're comming from Japan, and that may take some time, just wanted an approximate time). No response. A bit of googling, seems I'm not alone. I'm hoping that this is just a problem related to the office move, however, I would have at least expected an email saying they were having problems, and asking for patience. Instead I get nothing. Now the website has had issues for a few days... (and become totally useless yesterday), I'm even more concerned.

If this is just a glitch, and sitting tight will result in me getting my order, then fine... I'd just like to know!

Ok, their site has changed again! It now has a working phone number! And I got to speak to someone! Looks hopeful, I was told they'd be getting my C3000 in about a week or so. I'm happy to wait, as long as I get something. The guy on the phone was most helpful, and appologised for all the problems they'd been having, so hopefully they'll be back on track.

Nice!

Hopefully now we will all get our PDA's and accessories!  I was really starting to worry.
