Guess i'll have to sell my C860 as soon as possible and get a C3000 instead.

Or should I wait untill sharp decides to release a clamshell with built-in wifi ...

Damn fine review,

If I wasn’t already determined to have one, I am now.

The announcement for the 3100 is due this month, once the distinctions between it and the 3000 are clear then my order gets placed.

Is that definitive ? Or is it based on the thread here where the C3100 was "speculated on" ?

Sorry for my sloppy phrasing, it is speculative based on the mention:

If I were you I would do the same. Wifi included would be a major boost. If it is not included I wouldn't wait for the next episode. That could take another 6 months, and including wifi through CF really isn't all that bad.

Great review, very well done!

One minor nitpick, though:  The C3000 is not the first Z with a directional keypad.  The vertical units (5000, 5500, and 5600) all have this keypad.  The one on the C3000 does look nicer.

Of course you were really only talking about the clamshell units, anyway.      Your review makes me wish I had the "fun" money to spend on a new Z to replace my aging (but still excellent) 5500.

You're correct, that slipped my mind.

Just wanted to give you all an update. I haven't really had a lot of time to fool around with my Zaurus, but I do use it every day. Ko/pi is an excellent PIM... As a sidenote, the lack of PIM applications was the reason I sold my sl-c750.

The mp3 player also gets daily use. Although I have an iPOD filled up with music, I don't listen to most of it. The most recent CDs I have put on the Zaurus and they get a daily listen. When I commute on the bus I read an e-book in opie reader or a pdf in Qpdf2 and listen to music from the zaurus through my iPOD earphones (which are a nice match fashion-wise...). Less gadgets=more convenience. Although on holidays I probably would still taken my iPOD with me, just to have everything at hand.

Cheers!
