Fixing Broken Kernel
« on: March 10, 2005, 11:13:46 am »
Hi there,

I compiled a custom kernel and goofed up somewhere. After installation my Z no longer boots (just get the splash screen).

Question: What keys do I press on startup to get to the kernel installation menu? On + OK gets me the maintenance menu but it seems thats not what I want.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't installed the SL-C3000 update then you could download a NAND image from http://downloads.conics.net/pda/zaurus-sl-...riginal-backups

If you have installed the update then simply re-installing that update should do the trick... The Kernel and Initrd on the 3000 is in NAND flash, the rest is on the HDD.
OpenBSD 4.2 -current on full 4Gb of SL-C3000
Microdrive replaced with 4Gb SanDisk Extreme III card
