How To Configure Opie Package Manager On Sl6000?
« on: March 15, 2005, 09:08:20 am »
Good morning i've installed opie (OZ 3.5.2.) on my SL6000L.
Now i want to install konqueror ond a pdf reader ?

I try to use PACKAGE MANAGER with default configuration to install konqueror but after installing konqueror doesent start, so i think the servers in PACKAGE MANAGER are wrong for sl 6000.

Anyone can help me ?

How ca i configure OPIE PACKAGE MANAGER to download programs for SL 6000

I want konqueror and pdf reader....

The apps in the feed ought to work for the 6000 too.

I assume you have an icon for konq? Have you tried running it from the command line to see what the error is?

Have you installed the service-release ipk? In the upgrades feed on www.openzaurus.org?

This will add the /dev feed which this ipk lives in.

My fault.

Download this file:
http://www.openzaurus.org/official/unstabl....5.2-r1_arm.ipk

Place it somewhere on your Z (like on a CF card); I've not used package-manager, so I'll run you through the command line way of installing it:

Run 'ipkg install path/to/the/ipkg/file' on the above file (wherever you've installed it).

Then attach to the web, click the Update button in package-manager or run 'ipkg update' from the command line - this will update the local list of available packages.

Then just install whatever you want - assuming you're online the dependencies will automatically be downloaded and installed for you.

Run 'ipkg remove opie-ftp' to remove it.

If you must do it by hand (and I wouldn't recommend it) then the status file lives somewhere under <mount point>/usr/lib/ipkg/
