During last weeks I was thinking about setup 'virtual' account for donations. It cannot be Paypal because they do not know where the Poland is so I was thinking about Moneybookers (they support Poland). After searching in that forum I found Ikobo quite popular too. I don't have experience with them so I ask you all for help with choosing.

I do lot of OpenEmbedded/OpenZaurus work and many times I have to say "sorry I cannot check this" mainly due to lack of discussed hardware (like all those wifi problems or bluetooth ones).

Now I'm trying to get BT card (thx speculatrix) but to check networking over BT I will have to buy USB-BT dongle for my home and my work computer and SD card for storage (now using 256M cf card).

After OZ 3.5.3 someone will have to take care about releasing next versions as Mickeyl won't have a time for it. Probably it be not me as I can not check how it work on something other then collie (I never saw other Zaurus models live - only photos in net).

Yeah, that looks ok. I can't believe that Paypal doesn't know our kneighbours ;(

Anyway, your effort for OZ is really appreciated, and I'll sign up and send you some money once I get the first payment for my job in about 2 weeks.

Cheers
Philipp

Just after I wrote this, I thought that there are actually more people at work for OZ, so they should get a donation as well. I know Mickeyl, but then again, I'm not sure who else is there, and I actually don't really want to send out many different donations.

Couldn't you people make something up so that one can donate to the OZ project itself instead of individual developers, and you divide up the plunder by yourself?

Cheers

Arrangements like that are very complicated when you have a fluctuating group like the contributors to OpenZaurus. Not only do contributors come and go but they also contribute to variing degrees. And as soon as it comes to money, friendly relationships are endangered. In the end it's not worth the hassle to split the money up. That's why we settled on individual donations.

Who does what is pretty much open - it's listed on the BitKeeper ChangeLogs, it's listed in the ipkgs (MAINTAINER), on the READMEs and you see it in forums like this due to our participation.

So, just donate to the people you think which are doing things that affect you. HRW surely is one of those.

Yeah, I sure see your point. It's just that I don't have much faith in my ability to decide who's deserved it, even from only my own perspective... Ok, it's not about _much_ money, but of course also about appreciation, so I want to do this somewhat right.

Anyway, I'll have a look at the sources you mentioned, and then I'll decide. Thanks

Cheers

Thought it was about time I gave something back to the community and it seems like everyone would benfit if you had a bit more kit to test on so I have decided to donate my 760 along with a 256 sd card and a D-Link DCF-660W wireless card plus a bluetooth USB dongle.

email the address to send to at Richard at Swanbourne + com

Please put them to good use.

If I get more than one email reply to this all bets are off

Hmmm, when hrw gets the 760 device mentioned by Richard, then it will mean that it will be harder for me to resist a 7xx device in future, since this would mean really a value add to OZ support on these devices.
Keep on your good work Hrw and thanks,
Sam
