Here is an ipk I made for OZ3.5.2 for Opera 7.55

If you install it to SD, it'll do all the linking it needs and be ready to go.
It also has the CrystalSVG buttons, so it looks a little prettier.

Thanks.

Once you start opening the file, try the data.tar.gz folder then Zaurus.

Now you can pull it out and play with it. Thank you soooooo much IBM and everyone else.

I might see is there is a Japanese version on the IBM website.

Mr Squishy,

I am very interested in the OZ3.5.2 ipk, however your URL appears to be out of date.

I tried installing multimodal_arm under OZ 3.5.3 but got numerous missing libs in /home/QtPalmtop/lib: ecienus.so, ecissml.so, libvxmservices.so, libvxm.so, libxmlparse.so.  I could not remove the package since it didn't fully install, and all subsequent attempts to reinstall it loop (apparently infinitely) on "Configuring multimodal ... Installing opera to root"

Anyway, a version of Opera 7.55 packaged for OZ sounds like a better bet!  Thanks for doing it, and where can I find it?

If you want to get rid of the voice command stuff and go for a smaller build, here is a quick and dirty way:

Use WinRAR to extract multimodal_arm.ipk TWICE.  The you will be able to see a full-fledged package.  Simply install  \data\home\zaurus\.opera\opera_arm.ipk under data.tar.gz .  The final size is just half of the full package.

Unfortunately not at this time. Maybe offroadgeek could have a small feed for Sharp/OZ ipk conversions at some later date? (not sure about the legality's of that)

MrSquishy has rebuilt an opera7.55.ipk for oz but his website seems to have had some problems. It appears that he is slowly fixing it but the ipks are not available yet... you could PM him and see if he could make it available.

You can however extract the opera.ipk from the IBM multimodal ipk and install that with –force-depends, then ipkg-link it to /home or wherever. (I say /home because I know you have a poodle)

I would suggest to search for and d/l ipkg-utils-1.7, it will help you to modify your own Sharp rom ipks for OZ. (not necessary but makes it easier)

Anyone downloading the multimodal ipk from IBM should read the license.
There is a copy of which is in the multimodal ipkg, and also in the opera ipkg (license.txt) the multimodal ipk contains. I don't think it includes the right to redistribute.
