Stuck In Service/diag Menu
« on: April 06, 2005, 03:59:22 pm »
I have an sl6000L with the sharp rom. I restarted it yesterday and it no longer starts up, I am able to get into both service and diag menu but nothing else at this point. I tried to do a NAND restore but I guess I am doing something wrong..
I hit 'D' and 'M' and reset - brings up service menu
I have one file on my CF card called 'syst0006.dbk'
I then go to page 4 on service menu and run 'NAND RESTORE'

On the screen it sayd 'NAND   Restore from CF'

But it has been like that for about 4 hours.

Should I see some kind of progress?
Do I have the right file?
any help would be great.

you need to get the original sharp files and do a "q t" restore, I think. see the thread on resoring the 6000 to its original state.

I would but I can't get out of the service/diag menu. If I hit the reset the mail and power lights blink and I can not power the unit up at all. Even if I hit hold the 'q t' keys down and try to power it on... nothing happens the screen stays blank and the lights keeps blinking. So i think (and I could be wrong) I need to do a NAND restore. Unless someone has a way to exit the service and or diag menu.

Yes I hit the OK button. The only thing I see is 'NAND Restore from CF'
nothing else.

Do I have the correct NAND file? (as listed above)
Do I need more then one file?

thanks for any help/suggestions.

My Z is back. I had to do a CF Update from the service menu.
