Hello everyone, I am new to Linux and have some potentially dumb questions.  I have a C750, and I just installed the latest Cracko ROM I could find.  Will this work on my device??  Also, does this replace the PIM included in Cracko's ROM, or does it install it in addition, so I have different PIM apps I need to choose?  Thanks for your help.

- I think it replaces, but you can "sync" with the Sharp DTM to pull your data over from there, and put it back again later, say if some application is expecting to find it there and not in "std.vcf" where kdepim puts it.
- I personally never sync anything, so never have to worry about where my data is.  Copy "std.vcf" an it's backed up.  Simple.  Easy.
- Hope this helps...

Can anyone help me get pi-sync running with my linux desktop?  I enabled the option on the zaurus but I can't find the option in the linux kde pim apps.  Nor does multisync or any other sync app have a pi-sync option.

From what I recall I think the pi-sync option is only with KO/PI source code version.  The one you would have to compile and download from the zautrix website.

Does anybody have KO/PI running on a modern Linux system?   It looks like it hasn't been updated in awhile, and it won't compile on Fedora 5 for me.

IIRC, you need to use gcc 2.95.

gcc 3.x or 4.x fails.

Yes that link is dead.  But as noted in this linked thread,  Version 2.2.9 available, there is a new version for the Zs.

No apologies for pasting the contents of the first post from zautrix.

zautrix wrote:

"Hi folks!

I just uploaded version 2.2.9 of KDE/Pim PI.
This is for Zaurus/Sharp Rom only.

A new version for Windows will follow later (in 1-2 weeks maybe).

And yes - you did not miss version 2.2.8.
It was only in the source cvs and I never uploaded a binary version.

z.

Info about the changes in new versions of KDE-Pim/Pi

********** VERSION 2.2.9 ************

Again I added some features I was missing...

Added in KO/Pi alarm applet for the zaurus the possibility to
- set the suspend duration for the next suspended alarm
- display the currently suspended alarm and remove it

Fixed in KO/Pi What'sNext view the display of recurring multiday and allday events.

Changed in KO/Pi What'sNext view the display of multiday events.
Now for events longer than 3 days only the start date and the end date of the event is displayed.
Fixed in What'sNext view some problems with recurring todos.
Added to the action menu the possibility to change quickly the number of displayed days in the What'sNext view.

Added to overdue todos in What'sNext view the info about how many days that todo is overdue.

Added to the list view and search list a column "proi" which display the priority of todos.

Added to the print dialog (only available in desktop versions) when printing todos another feature: Now you can specify the number of topmost prios of todos you want to print out. E.g. you can print only your todos of priority 1-2.

********** VERSION 2.2.8 ************

I forgot what I fixed...

Some minor fixes in KA/Pi and KO/Pi.

KA/Pi uses popup menu now for quick category selection in contact edit dialog.

In the Pi-syc mode of KO/Pi it is now possible to define specific resources which can be synced with the remote pi-sync server.
This feature must be considered as unstable - it still needs some more testing.

On Wintendo now KA/Pi can sync with Outlook. The configuration of the sync needs some moer tweking.
Fixed some gcc 4.xx compilation probs.
Fixed an annoying cursor focus reset problem when editing and (auto-)saving journal enries in KO/Pi.

Added:
OOps, I forgot the download link:

Download 2.2.9

Not only is the zip for the Zs there but also the latest source. So if you want to install to your linux or Windows'  boxes feel free to go to Sourceforge and download the source for yourselves.

Zautrix has just reported that he has uploaded 2.2.10 for Sharp rom and for Suse 10.3.

He also says that the Windows version is to be uploaded in 3 to 4 weeks!

He is also contacting the chap who is trying to get it running on the Nokia 810.

Thanks Snappy, must have borked it when I pasted zautrix's post over. I have corrected it above: but here is the link to the kdepimpi section on Sourceforge kdepimpi at Sourceforge. Since the link above just downloads 2.2.9 and the latest version is 2.2.10 and the source files and an rpm is available at this link, I would think it should prove useful.
