Hello everyone ^^
It's been long since I last checked news and I just saw that there was a "new" version of the Cacko (1.22) and that it fully support Japanese.
When I see fully I think it recognize handwritting and all the stuff ?...
So I asked myself does it worth changing my 1.4JP to Cacko ?
Indeed I use my Z with Kanji Nirvana and other stuff to learn kanji.
Everything works well but as a lot of people I'm curious and I want to see what it's like but I don't want to regret it because for now I have no problems...
Will I really gain something ? or should I stay my "stable" state xD
Thanks !!!!

I'm the one who wrote the Japanese howto for Cacko.
The cacko rom gives you a better looking ROM, all in english, with a number of functional improvements such as extra terminal programs (Zip, etc), better support for add-on cards (Wi-Fi and BT, etc), and things like the fact that samba is running all the time so you can view the files on Z through the network, etc. Additionally it gives you a much nicer looking Z - Helvetica is a *very* nice font for display.
I ended up having to use zStyle in order to make it work nicely with both English and Japanese, but the support for both is nearly seamless. (WIth the major exception being Hancom Word - The version in 1.22 doesn't support Japanese input. I may try fixing that later... I use Zeditor for all my Japanese text file editiing anyway) I've used my 860 running like this for months without issue, so it seems pretty stable.
When I got my 3000, I started using it with the original Rom and was apalled at how primitive it felt. Cacko gives me a *much* nicer experience and I'll never want to go back to Sharp.
My suggestion - do a backup, then flash to cacko. If you don't like it you can always flash back to 1.4 and restore your backup without any serious issues.
