Easy Way To Transfer Files C1000 <-> Pc Over Usb?
« on: April 29, 2005, 04:47:03 pm »
Hello

Im trying to transfer some files over to my C1000 , as my card reader went to heaven yesterday, and I got no luck with the cd drivers or the C860 usb driver download - cant get it to work as a mass storage device

any simple ways to transfer some files?

ive also read through the pinned posts but still got no luck.

thanks!

This will probably not help you, because it's not "simple", per sé, but...

Have you installed the ssh packages (server and client)?  If you've done that, you can then use scp to copy files to/from the zaurus.  This is assuming you've set up USB networking on your desktop.

If your desktop is Windows, there's a nice, free scp client called WinSCP.  Check download.com.

For Linux connectivity, check here: [a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Linux_Connectivity]https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Linux_Connectivity[/url]
For Windows XP, if you have SP1, you should be able to go through the control panel/network config setup to enable TCP over USB.

Why can't you get it to work as a mass storage device? By definition, mass storage mode doesn't need drivers, as long as you're hooking up to a relatively modern (or at least newer than win98) OS.

Go to PC Link on the settings tab, set it to Storage, then choosed CF or SD. Click on okay, then plug it in with the usb cable.

If you get a USB alert message, unplug it and try it again.
