Really Stuck; Cannot Ping Poodle
« on: May 01, 2005, 04:32:22 am »
Hello,

after I succesfully flashed my new Zaurus SL5600 with opie-openzaurus 3.5.3, I am trying to ping my Zaurus for hours now.
It worked with the orginal SHARP image, but not with openzaurs.
I have usb0 on the pc-side an I can bring it up, but the Zaurus is refusing to bring up a useable device.
At first, I cannot restart, start or stop any networkinterface at runtime, I have to reboot.
(Rebooting is not working, it hangs, I have to reset)

The devices usbf and usb0 are down, and when I start them at startup, they seem to be abscent (SCIOFADDR....).
The only device that works is usbd0, what I have succesfully running up.

But no matter whether I give a static IP to it (it brings usbd0 up, but although I cannot ping the Zaurus) or use DHCP (the Zaurus doesn't find a DHCP Server, although I set one up)

So I am really stuck.

when playing around in network settings the window often freezes and will only work again after resetting.

please help

Oh, I recognized that I took the kernel for the PXA-255 although only havin a PXA-250.
That may cause the problems.
I'll flash as soon as I can get a CF Card and a CF-Reader and I will report back when the problem still occurs.
