"please Wait" On White Screen
« on: May 03, 2005, 01:57:40 am »
Hello,

several programs I installed give me the following behaviour on startup via QTopia icon:

The screen gets white, a vertical-mode "Please wait" appears, after some seconds the screen (i.e. the "Please wait" message, whcih is the only thing visible on screen) rotates back to landscape mode, then the "Please wait" message disappears and the normal QTopia desktop comes back. THe program isn't started.

What can be the reason?

It happens e.g. with the Frodo C64 emulator, with some games, and with some other programs.

Any libraries missing?

I use the latest uLinux ROM offered by trisoft.de as a backup.

Thanks
daniel

Hold your stylus down on the Icon for the application, when the options appear uncheck run in Zoomed mode. That's what's happening with the Please Wait screen.

Sometimes applications crash when run zoomed, sometimes there's more to it.

Your first recourse is to unselect Zoomed. If the apps fail to launch after this then there's probably a missing dependency.
