Flashing Rom Question
« on: May 10, 2005, 06:49:16 pm »
Hello,
Can I flash my Zaurus SL-5500 with it plugged in just from the USB cable?  I want to sent it back to factory defaults, but I don't know if it has enough power and don't want to brick it.

Thanks,
Fenwick McKelvey

I've done it on my 6000 and I think on my previuos 5600.

No guarantees , though.

If this is one of these USB/power combo cables, then you should be able to so long as the cable is receiving power from the computer (i.e. it's on!).

If you're talking about just setting it into the cradle without the power attached, you're putting yourself at great risk of bricking the device.
