Gps Programs
« on: May 15, 2005, 11:48:48 am »
Ok, I had so many problems getting my USB Delorme Earthmate working on the Zaurus that I decided to get a serial, standalone GPS.  I ideally wanted something I could take where the Zaurus could not go, anyway, but I already had the Earthmate.

So anyway... all of you people that use your Zaurus with a GPS, what have your experiences been with your GPS?

What platform (ROM) have you tried with your GPS?
What different applications have you tried with your GPS?

Has anyone integrated voice recognition and voice feedback with their GPS solution?

I know there are lots of GPS posts in the forums, but they are fairly old.  Things have changed in the Zaurus world with new ROMs coming out (OZ 3.5.3, etc) so I'd like to get a current survey.

Thanks!

You didn't make any more progress on it then - shame. Let me know if you decide you want to get it working at some point in thre future - it'll annoy me until I know it works .

I have used qpegps and something which I think was called zgps, but I just wanted the lat/long rather than mapping, so I was planning to eventually move to using gpsd directly (still on the back-burner).
