I installed the unzip package to my sd
when I type "unzip" ***** in konsole  I get "1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected".

I really need it to read Baen books in Justreader otherwise I can only read chapter 22 and the html links don't work.

Have looked for solution but stuck.
rtfm gratefully received.
Simple one before I get irritating trying to get help to get my z online through usb.

Try surrounding the filename with quotes, ie: unzip "some very clever filename(1).zip"

Sorry I should have made it clear that the file name had no "(" in it.
File name is H0671878654.zip.  Still didn't work in quotes.  Other people must be unzipping files.

Thanks

I have never needed unzip on my Z... so I never tried it. This thread made me curios so I installed it from the 3.5.3 feed and tried it. I have tried zip files made with windows and linux... both gave me the same Syntax error you get. I have done a bit of googling and found that this error was corrected by using dos2unix on the file before unzip, and or the -a option with unzip. I have tried using both of these methods and I still get the same Syntax error.

I see no bug listed about this on the OZ-bugtracker/Bugzilla... before I do enter a new bug report has anyone been able to unzip a file on OZ3.5.3?

Thanks

Greg

I've entered a bug report at bugs.openembedded.org and moved this thread to OZ/Common
