First Charge Of C3000
« on: June 01, 2005, 07:31:23 am »
Hi !

My friend just sent me from Japan a C3000. Problem, I am in a 220V country, so I use a universal adaptor to charge my Zaurus.

I used the same I used for my C700: 5V out, 1A 12 VA max, quite the same than the sharp one, except it tooks a 220V input.

Problem: when I connect the adaptor, the charge led don't blink. Why ? Should I wait a moment because it is the first charge of the batery ? Or is it a problem ? The polarity is OK, and the adaptor works well for my C700.

I wasn't really clear in my previous post. In fact the led don't light up at all. Perhaps because the battery is dead ? But the Zaurus is brand new. Not enough power from the adaptor ? It worked well for the C700.

I think I will try this weekend the original adapter on a 220-110V converter. But anyone have an idea what could make a Zaurus dead like this ? Broken microdrive ?

Does it exist in Europe some company that could repair (or at least diagnose) Zaurus for not a too important fee (ie for least than the price of a new Zaurus) ?

[1]Trisoft /might/ do it for you. But I don't know what their policy is on units not supplied by them.

you must have checked  this but as the led doesn't light up when the switch is open....

Hi everybody,

no need for systran, simply drop us a line or call us if anything
is unclear or if you need help.

We take care about every user and every Zaurus whereever
the Zaurus was purchased. But warranty repairs/exchanges are
only possible for units purchased from us.

Hurrah, my Zaurus is now working !!!

Thanks to pgas for mentionning the battery switch ! I opened the zaurus case and just tried to remove and replace the baterry switch, and reclosed all.

Now it is working. The switch surely was deplaced during transportation.

Thanks everybody !
