If your running tkcrom you\'ll find the feed in your \"install via network\" options.

Has anyone here tried tkcROM 2.0beta3? It seems to have some useful improvements but I can\'t connect with my D-Link 660W wifi card to the host PC. I am using the same settings as in tkcROM 1.0. The message I get after trying to connect is that I should check my WAP and/or TCP settings (which are OK). Is it only my card, is there a fix, or is this a known bug?

Gabor

Yes, I have tried the ROM and it seems nice.  My only problem so far has been in receiving files over infra-red:  I have been trying to beam files from my Palm V, and after I have enabled IRDA (on both machines) the Palm recognises that the Z is there and the Z recognises the Palm, but the files won\'t transfer.  The process worked OK on the previous version of tkcROM.  Don\'t know how to get round this yet.

I have trcRom and I cannot change PATH via script file.

Changing environment variables only affects the current shell, and if you export the variable any subsequent child processes.

Changing the PATH variable from the command line is changing your curent shell, so will work fine.

If you have a script (say myscript) that sets the PATH to x, then exits. it will run the script in a new shell, change the PATH in the new shell only as it cannot change the parent shells environment, when it exits your PATH goes back to the calling shells value.

If you run the script with
Code: [Select]
. ./myscript then the dot forces the script to be run in your current shell rather than a new one, and the PATH variable will be set as according to \"myscript\".

Alternativly set the PATH and export it in a script that runs before your shell fires up. ie in ~/.profile.

note: This is not zaurus specific, and applies to all unix operating systems.

Hi Captain,
Can you \"connect\" your CF wireless network card in tkcROM 2.0beta3?

The last two posts as \'Guest\' were from me:  I thought I was logged in but some silliness prevailed!

If your running tkcrom you\'ll find the feed in your \"install via network\" options.

Would you mind posting what the URL here?  I\'m tkcrom 1.0 and there are no feed configured.

Well this has been discussed before - however if your not running the C7x0 tkc rom the feed dont work.
The url is //feed.theprototype.org/zaurus/tkcrom/sl-c7x0/

You could www. to it from a browser but you\'d need to add \"/package_name.ipk\" on the end of it to get anything.
But then you\'d need to know the available packages and full extensions to get anywhere, and there\'s quite a few in there.

Well this has been discussed before...

A search for \"tkcrom and feed\" in these forums gives only 9 results. Only the quoted one has a URL.  So where was this discussed before?  Searching doesn\'t find it.

Is anybody can help me to sync Z (tkcrom) with Outlook WinXP via network?
Also another question - Is it possible to use smbd as samba server in local network or I seed to install samba? It seems smbd works only when usb connection.
