Jumbo Xqt Package
« Reply #46 on: July 07, 2005, 09:28:08 am »
The package is now in its 0.6 revision and I have been able to get more pdaXrom applications to work with it. So far I have successfully tested it with Firefox, Thunderbird, Gimp, Abiword and Ethereal and apps from the X/Qt feeds like dillo and sylpheed naturally work as well.

Also, many people have been helping me test as well and we have it working on the following models:

C3000
C1000
C3100
C860

The link is secret. If I told everyone, then it wouldn't be a secret link anymore. My site is very slow (slow ADSL uplink) and running on a 16 MB Libretto so it can't handle the load.
Please be patient for a while longer. With luck, I will have the files transferred to OESF very soon and then everyone can get it.

Well, the testing phase has come to a successful completion, which means the jumbo packages are now ready to be released as soon as I can move them to a home with lots of bandwidth.

X/Qt jumbo pack:

- xqt-gtk-jumbopack_0.4.3-0.6_arm.ipk (15MB)

Mozilla Firefox:

- firefox_0.9-2_arm.ipk (7MB)

Debian Pocketworkstation + OpenOffice:

- xqt-debian-install.zip (2k)
- zaurus-debian-jumbo-v18-b01.tar.gz (95MB)
- zaurus-debian-doc-v18.tar.gz (13MB)
- zaurus-debian-openoffice114.tar.gz (80MB)

Anyway, I am off to catch a plane...

- Me three!!  (drool)
- Given my not-so-puffy experience this weekend with flashing, I'm a LOT more interested in this Jumbo X/Qt thing that before!  I was interested then, but now it looks like the only potentially viable X game in town for the C1000.  A paltry 213MB will more of an issue at installation time than download, once it's up.  (expectant hand-wringing)  Yehsss massterr...

I guess my PM didn't make it to you, but I can host the files, if you want. Not sure if the PM thing works, but try to PM me anyway and we can hopefully work out the details....

I updated the debian install script so now it can install my customised debian tarball and openoffice and/or setup debian using the default zaurus-debian-big-v0.18.tgz tarball. It will automate the steps described on my website including creating startd file so all you need to do is place zaurus-debian-big-v0.18.tgz and xqt-debian-install.sh in the same directory and run the script
Of course you need to install X/Qt first

The script can be found here:
http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/jumbo/

The other files will be available soon I hope.

Anyway, I wasted enough time on this already, better continue working on writing some useful application and finishing my novel.
