The black and red color scheme is damn nice looking. I like it even better than the 1000's keyboard. (Which I can't remember the coloring of - Grey? It's going to be another week or two before I get my 1000 back.)

3100 is sweet. Good companion for my 6k. I can use 6k for tweaking at home and carry 3100 when out . Don't want to be too geeky out there. I guess 3100 will have a better chance to attract hot girls?

I have a relative in Japan. What's the price if purchased in Japan? How much will the price come down by the end of the year?

As one guy around here mentioned before, it would be nice to get a brand new Z with all the modern and quite useful things - 624 MHz PXA270 CPU, 2700G video accelerator and 128 Mbytes of RAM as well as NAND. Most of those features are already present in high-end Windows mobile handhelds, like Dell Axim X50v. I'm unable to understand why Sharp doesn't want to put them all into new Zaurii. To my mind, I need only few things that my C760 doesn't do too fast: 1) Smooth midi playback via Timidity; 2) Smooth DivX playback of CD titles without having to recompress them; 3) Swift WWW surfing via Firefox; 4) Performance of slow 386 ar at least 286 when playing PC games via DOSbox (with SB sound, of course).

I'd like to buy 3100, if I wasn't afraid of some things: 1) Limited performance of 416 MHz PXA270, especially when executing video output; 2) Extended size and weight of 3k series; 3) Very unserious and inconvenient 5-way joystick instead of good ol' T-reversed cursor keys (I've got really used to it ).

RAM limitation, of course, stays here as well. And programs like multiple-windowed Firefox are still crashing at 64 Mb space...

The next Cxxx I would consider buying would need much more than just a better colour. It would need to have a much faster CPU than the current  4xxMhz and of course more memory, say 128MB at least, preferably 256MB. Also a faster and bigger harddisk would be needed. This 4 GB microdrive is bloody slow. The 8 GB CF SANdisk would be better. Also, I want build in bluetooth capabilities, a viable VGA out solution! and faster USB 2.0 host. The current support for Wifi cards is fine with me cause wifi is a power sucker so being able to remove it and conserve power is fine by me and its quite handy on the plane (you can just pull out the wifi card). Maybe 2 SD slots instead of 1  and 800x600 res would be good too.
SL-C3000 - pdaXii13 build5.4.9 (based on pdaXrom beta3) / SL-C3100 - Sharp ROM 1.02 JP (heavily customised)
Netgear MA701 CF, SanDisk ConnectPlus CF, Socket Bluetooth CF, 4GB Kingston CF,  4GB pqi SD, 4GB ChoiceOnly SD, 2GB SanDisk SD USB Plus, 1GB SanDisk USB Plus, 1GB Transcend SD, 2GB SanDisk MicroSD with SD adaptor, Piel Frama Leather Case, GoldX 5-in-1 USB cable, USB hub, USB mouse, USB keyboard, USB ethernet, USB HDD, many other USB accessories...

I know why IMHO SHARP don't use anything better and not adding new features. They just dont want to touch anything generally in the hardware of Cxxx series so they do only do improovment such to not touch basic motherboard and construction. I think they will publish absolutelly new model redesigned to Christmas market. And then will try to patch that model next 2-3 years. They are just too lazy to redesign whole unit from scratch now. But what I don't really understand is their policy NOT to sell it worldwide. Maybe they don't have support or production capacity, but I really dont understant it.

Now there should be two models C3100 with microdrive and 1100 without microdrive
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=83313\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
What's the difference between the 3100 without microdrive and the 1000?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=83330\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

In C1000 there is no connector to place microdrive and no controller to internal CF bus. Of course you can buy controller and connector and solder both by hand, (because board is same) but I wouldnt do it on my Z personally.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=83332\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Yep, to dangerous ;-)
Will simply ask my local reseller to order me a 3100 without the drive (to put a CF in instead) - if the hard disk would be faster than CF (and i mean not only a bit) it would have more reason to exist...lets see if enough people do so to actually have Sharp recognizing it.

More RAM and faster CPU would just be nice to have, but battery life is also important to keep high.
