Pcmcia Usb Cards
« on: June 14, 2005, 05:40:11 am »
There are PCMCIA USB cards out there, some for as little as $30 I've seen.
The question is, will they work with the SimPad?

That'd be swell if they would

Then again, I suppose there aren't any USB drivers for OpenSimpad, though...

Sounds like it could be quite the project...

I think I'd be up for at least messing around with it if I end up buying a Simpad...

Looks like a big N O.

They are all CardBus, which, if I'm not mistaken, will not work with the SimPad...too bad...

What about CF USB cards? though those seem to be pretty dang expensive...

Pretty expensive yes, but thanks to B0Ti there's support in 2.6.x for the Ratoc USB card, and there are also some old drivers cfu1-driver (iirc) in OE which work with 2.4.18.

I've no idea what you're running on the simpad, but there's some hope at least.

Well, I'm running nothing until they get here  Then I'll see.

It'd be great to be able to plug in my nifty folding USB keyboard

It'll give me something to play with while I'm waiting for parts to fix my tablet PC...
