bwt - I got an email from a guy at Sharp about hosting the devnet.. he should be calling me soon   If he does call, I will ask him for the ip address!

bluedevils - thanks!  I\'ve grabbed all the files from /downloads.  I just need to move them to my Z and head over to starbucks to upload them to the zug server (can\'t do too much thru the firewall at work  )

I\'ll update the links on our how-to page as well

...(also silent thanks to the previous first zauruszone forum maintainer - who was it I forget).

The creator of zauruszone was, if I remember correctly, Jason Perlow.

A few downloads are missing. There\'s quite a few more files at http://66.180.235.233/downloads

Also has anyone mirrored the Community site yet? There could be quite a few useful packages up there but the maintainer may no longer be around. You can fairly easily grab all the files by using the following URL:

http://66.180.235.230/download.php/X

Where X is 1 to however many files are on the Community site (may be 500 or more)

e.g.
http://66.180.235.230/download.php/1 returns 5500v310OSpack.zip

I got everything... (wget -r)   I\'ve updated most, if not all the how-tos on the ZUG...

If I missed any links... anyone can update them... just remember:

http://docs.zaurus.com/ = http://www.zaurususergroup.com/downloads/docs/

ok... we now have full mirrors of both the devnet board and the community site.

you can access the mirrors via the links in the ZUG menu (on the left)

a couple things to note:
- the devnet board is mirrored on the zug server... so it should be fast
- the community site is mirrored on my home server (via dsl)... because of all the files to download

if you\'ve modified your /etc/hosts file with the IPs of the devnet and community sites, and you try to log in or post to the devnet mirror, you will actually be re-directed to the original zaurus.com/dev/board site and you WILL be able to log in and post.

if you haven\'t modified your /etc/hosts file, then it will just re-direct you to the sharpusa site, and will effectively be a read only mirror.

enjoy and let me know if you have any comments/feedback

offroadgeek:

From your note about the host file, I\'m guessing that posting is enabled on the devnet mirror?  If so, I\'m wondering if that\'s a good idea.  It adds to the problem of having too many forums to search through/post to for (new) information/help.  Also, if Sharp ever happens to bring devnet back, allowing posts on the mirror would essentially create a fork of the forum.

Of course, if posting is _not_ enabled, please kindly disregard this post ()

no, posting is not enabled...  what I was trying to say was that if you have changed your hosts file with the two sharp IPs, then if you try to login or post to the forum, you will be re-directed to the *real* devnet forum, where you will be able to login and post (because that forum is connected to the mysql db).

so the mirror forum is read-only

Thanks for salvaging this info!

I tried the search function and it sent me to the Sharp site.  Same thing happens if I try change the time period shown for a particular forum and then press the \"Go\" button.

I just got a PM from a gentleman this morning looking for PDFs and other documentation on using Java on the Zaurus.  All of my copies are on paper.  Would the docs.zaurus.com section be something that you could also mirror?

Offroadgeek, you are a hero for rescuing that data, especially for those of us who are new.

Not sure how this relates to earlier posts about some missing files, but I found a few links
in the community section that worked off the ip address, but not the mirror.
The download for qpealarmclock, for example.
https://www.oesf.org/commu...k_1.0.8_arm.ipk
Also some docs on project pages, and project home page links on the summary tabs where the name of the homepage link is the project name prepended to .community.zaurus.com. Not sure that the last point to anything that is not accessable through the tabs, but those are all the things I have noticed so far.

Great work, and thanks again.
