Confused About Alternative Oss
« on: June 22, 2005, 06:47:58 am »
I am a complete novice to Zaurus 5500 and also to Linux and am confused about the various alternative OSs for the Zaurus (original rom, Qtopia, OpenZaurus, Opie, GPE .....

Could someone disentangle them for me, what they are and what the advantages or disadvantages might be between them?

I would really appreciate that.

Wow! That link tops my "outdated OpieZaurus" docs from now on.

That page should be updated.

I've just made a few minor changes.

For example, the part listing the 'ROMs' at the top should be moved under Sharp ROMs (as that's what it is listing for the mostpart), otherwise we'll end up listing each one twice.

Each heading (OpenZaurus, Cacko, etc.) should say which devices it supports in the title.
