It's a campaign, if you go to http://www.7zaurus.com/ you can sign up for a chance to win  a Sharp PC-TX32J PC (1 prize) or a Zaurus C31000 in one of 7 colors (7 prizes).

Not sure if they have 7 colored zaurus and if someone else get the blue for example then you might have to get the pink or if each winner can win their choice of colors

The site says you must be a resident of Japan and can only apply 1 per person (it states that if you apply more than once they will cancel your applications. You also can't work for Sharp or apply illegally

I'm not sure whether you have to visit each blog or just the color you want to win (sorry  it's late and brain isn't working too well)

Actually, you don't even get the Zaurus. They are offering to change out the cover of the 3100 you already own with a new one in one of seven colors. Pretty cheap prize, although it would be really cool if they sold the colored covers on their own.

You could easily do it yourself if you have access to a airbrush gun.

You could buy a number of the white covers from http://www.wolf.ne.jp/syuhen/zaurus.html that way you wouldn't need to sand it back

As I said, they're not selling them at the moment, so you can only get them by winning the contest (and I assume you have to live in Japan to enter). They probably would fit the other models though. One Japanese guy exchanged the cover fvrom his 3100 with one from a 1000, so that at least would work.

Yes you have to be a Japanese resident and the competition is finished now and was only for owners of C3100

This place http://www.wolf.ne.jp/syuhen/zaurus.html has the covers for sale  (about US$40) so you could get a white one and powder coat it any color you want.

No need to powder coat it Steve.  Hell, powder coating would just melt the cover down...

All you need is a good (and I mean GOOD) paint to do the job.    I've custom painted my computer cases, laptops, and such with colors from House of Kolor ... beautiful paint, and it goes on soooooooo smooth with an airbrush.

There is, of course, colorwarepc.com too .. for people who like to throw money around.
