They do work (at least the ones for beta1).

My panel at the bottom : menu - launchers - taskbar - actionbutton - batterymonitor - clock
My panel at the top : mountplugin - systray(empty) - cpugraph - systemload with memory and swap - clipboard - notes
...

I'm bit confused (easily done). Can you confirm where you get these apps from?

Thanks.

Download them here : [a href=\"http://users.telenet.be/zaurususer/ipkgs/experimental/]http://users.telenet.be/zaurususer/ipkgs/experimental/[/url]

If you go in the dir for "xfce 4.4 beta2", you can find the xfce-core package and the beta2 versions of orage, mousepad and xarchiver.

I'll upload the rest of the plugins asap.

BTW: don't forget to read "experimental"

Have fun,
Chero.

the fact is that ipk inside the experimental/4.4beta2 are not what they should be.
Maybe he will change them, since thay don't work on beta1

[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I had the beta-1 cross-compiler setup on my home  box and was compiling xfce 4.4 beta 2. Then this happended :[a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14031&view=findpost&p=140061]this post.[/url]. I expect my new hd to arrive in the next week, but I have quite a busy week or two to come ...

The ipkgs in experimental/4.4beta2 seem to work fine for CXX00 devices running beta3. I see there is a beta3 image provided for CXX0 devices by pgas, maybe that will make the ipkgs run on these devices as well ? I compiled them natively, using the zgcc for beta1 (xfce 4.4 beta1 was compiled using the beta3-compiler). I hoped they would be linked to libiconv that way instead of glibc-iconv, but something else seems to be wrong to make them compatible to the CXX0. I'm sorry for this, but I've tried and I don't have a CXX0 any more so I can't do a native compile on such a device. For now I see only three options :

1. wait untill I have reinstalled my home box, I can crosscompile xfce using the beta1 compiler or the builder (that was the plan before the crash).
2. hope someone else does it, using a CXX0.
3. try beta3 provided by pgas (it might work, then again, it might not)

I can't downgrade to beta1 on my Z right now, I need it for my job too much, sorry for letting CXX0 users down, but please don't make it sound like I don't want to.

If someone tries beta3 and xfce 4.4beta2 on a CXX0, please report success or failure.

The message seems to be : we need the same (stable) beta or rc for all devices.

Thanks,
Chero.

I've mentioned before but thought it relevant to mention again here that I'm running pdaXrom beta 3 with XFCE 4.4 beta 2 on my C3200.

I've installed a few plugins and they seem to be working ok. Once I've completed my analysis I'll post more info.

be sure I won't think you are not doing it for laziness
I insist only to avoid xfce4-on-zaurus death, since I appreciated all your work on it, and to make other users know about xfce4-on-zaurus status.

Finally, nothing forbid me to work toward compiling it by myself, so I'm in debt with what you did till now.
Keep your time, I'll try to get a working pdaxrom development machine to help you.

Until that moment, I'll bump this post from time to time

I've installed xfce4-battery-plugin and xfce4-netload-plugin but can't find how to run/use them. Any ideas?

Terminal, mousepad, orage and thunar seem to work fine. I needed to install gconf, orbit and vte from the beta 3 feed to get some of them to work, and also libxfce4util as mentioned previously.

First, a big thank-you for Chero. Without your work, there's no chance I could figure the whole thing out

I am currently using 4.2.2(tried 4.4beta but was a bit unstable, maybe my mistake). The problem is, I cannot change the menu.xml file using the Properties panel. Whenever I try to choose another menu.xml file by clicking the file-open dialog button, xfce4-panel crashes with a segmentation fault(no other error message). I installed both dbh and libxml2.

Another problem is the key-mapping one, which is described in this this thread.

Anyone any idea?

Make sure you have the hicolor icons installed. I had some instability similar to what you describe and found things a lot better after installing the hicolor ipk.

System crashed for some reason I don't know, re-installed xfce4 basic package, and the menu-editing feature works now. Guess I am happy as long as it works

i forgot the following:

in xinitrc.xfce4 add the following line:

rox --pinboard=(the name you put in before... i.e. MYPINBOARD)

[/b]

this makes the pinboard appear after a reboot automatically. but it is important to type in the same name as before else you will get again this blank desktop with the home folder.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=96873\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Where should this be put in the xinitrc.xfce4?
My new toy: C1000/pdaXrom/xfce4 and Rox - now I just have to get it all working!.

Other stuff: Axim x50v and a brace of Newtons....!

If I recall correctly, you can put it on the line after you call xfce4-session, but you can also put it in the Autostart Applications.  I think doing it the latter way might load it a bit slower.
