Opera For C3000
« on: July 28, 2005, 01:42:31 pm »
I've searched the forums and seen a few roundabout discussions that start off on c3000 but move to c1000.

I've tried opera_7.55.6079-c3k-2_arm.ipk

It installs but doesn't display a page.

I've also tried opera_sl-5x00-7.30.9965_arm.ipk

I've installed the opera-cseries-fix_7.30_arm.ipk under both but it didn't seem to change anything.

The behavior I see is I open Opera, connect to the net.  I have it go to google at which point it says it's receiving information and then nothing further.

Can someone post some links to the Opera package(s) they are using successfully on a C3000. BTW I'm running Cacko 123beta1

Turns out Opera 7.55 with C-series fix package works when I go through a wifi card but when I use the PAN applet to route through a bluetooth card Netfront works while Opera hangs.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Any suggestions?  For the demo I need to perform I have to route through bluetooth (although through a PPP connection, which I don't have working yet).

i have your answer.

1st install

opera_sl-5x00-7.30.9965_arm.ipk

2nd install

opera-cseries-fix_7.30_arm.ipk

third.

just because you installed these, it does not mean that you can bookmark since permissions are changed.  in order for you to bookmark or save settings in opera, you need to change permissions for a certain directory.

change permission in /home/zaurus by
in the terminal
excuse my messy code but i hope some one can correct me
Code: [Select]
su
chown -R zaurus:qpe /home/zaurus/.opera
chmod 700 /home/zaurus/.opera

im not sure for the rest of the c3000 group but i works fine on  my c1000.  Reason it might be that you dont have the permissions to run it.

do my thing first and reboot it if you wish. then try opera and see if it works.  If not, I have no clue since im not a c3000 owner.

to find the files, you need to search google.  you will find them.

Yeah, I already tried that and it didn't work for the C3000.

The Opera 7.55 release eventually worked for me but only after I reinstalled Cacko 123b1.  The original opera_sl-5x00-7.30.9965_arm never cleanly uninstalled so it was messing up the Opera 7.55 install.

Then it turned out I had a defective bluetooth card so it was a combination of problems.

All is working well now, running our web application through a 1XRTT phone via bluetooth and Opera.
