Usb Driver For Sl-5600 For Xp Will Not Install
« on: August 04, 2005, 03:22:33 pm »
OK, I'm on to chapter 2 of this morning's story.  Found a self-extracting file on the Sharp site at

http://www.sharpusa.com/products/TypeSoftw...086,112,00.html

Note the link to the Install CD file.  D/led it, put it on CD, and when I placed the CD in the drive autorun kicked in, showing me the menu of install options.

Problem, though -- the USB Driver install process simply won't work on my new XP Pro SP2 box (hardly use the Windows partition on this machine at all, though it is fully patched).  I can see the two .inf driver files in the top-level of the CD, but the New Hardware Wizard doesn't pick them up as the appropriate drivers for the device.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you sure that is not for the 6000?

The 560v132s.zip file has the driver you need... in your other thread.

I need a blushing smilie.  Greg2 is correct, and was correct, and I was pigheaded.  The files I needed were in the archive indicated rather than the one the Sharp support wizard pointed me to.

So thanks, Greg2, and a frosty beverage of your choice if we ever meet!
