Kernel 2.6

Hi,

I know the 5000 and 5500 are not usable with a 2.6 kernel because of the binary only sd-interface. But what about the 5600? Can openzaurus be used with a 2.6 on this device?

Actually, higher 2.6 kernels can load a module from a different kernel, if a certain module is compiled in, and the right options are passed. It was in testing with 2.6.9, so it's probably stable by now. I assume this could load a 2.4 binary module, if you passed everything it needed to function. I've never needed to do something like that (and now no longer have a Z), so I don't know versitile the module for different-kernel loading is.

Unfortunately he is currently not very active because of work to be done at other OS projects. But at least, there is hope :-)
