How To Recompile Hostap?
« on: September 07, 2005, 11:31:59 pm »
Hi all,

I am trying get aircrack working, and testing my wireless router.

but aireplay doesn't seems to work, can't send any packets.

someone on the net said the driver needed to be re-compile.

I also find something on this forum but its for pdaxrom and kernel 2.4.18.

https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showt...319&hl=aircrack

Quote
hostap-driver 02.4 --- Host AP driver for Intersil Prism2/2.5/3 patched with airoplay patch

hostap-utils 0.2.4 --- Host AP utils patched for firmware flashing

hostapd 0.2.4 --- user space daemon for access points

aircrack 2.1 --- 802.11 sniffer and WEP key cracker

I want have those packages on my OZ, is it possible?

if not how to re-compile the above packages for OZ?

any help appreciated.

thanks,
Abum

I have downloaded the source of c3100 kernel, and download the hostap files.

I have successfully compiled them, but when I put the hostap.so, hostap_cs.so to my C3100 and load up my linksys WCF12 card and the hostap driver crashed.

is there any trick to compile this driver??

I have enabled "PRISM2_DOWNLOAD_SUPPORT" AND "PRISM2_NON_VOLATILE_DOWNLOAD" in the hostap_config.h only.

can someone give me some light?

thanks,
Abum

I've been meaning to do this for awhile and have finally wiped my BitKeeper directory and set up Monotone.

Anyways, I have a bb file for aircrack-2.3 and hostap-modules-0.3.9 that seem to be working for my collie. I've attached them to this post. You might want to try them for your c3100.

Looks like they won't attach. PM me if you want to try them.

gott: use OE bugtracker - this will allow us to provide aircrack 2.3 for each newer release.

putting files in forums does not guarantee that stuff will appear in next OpenZaurus release as we don't trace whole forum for tweak, fixes, patches etc - for that kind of things we have bugtracker.

http://bugs.openembedded.org/ - register, login, create new bug, attach files.

I've been meaning to do that too. But alot of the functionality is from the wireless driver patches and I wasn't sure if they are considered trivial enough to just add them to the drivers or if they should be moved to something like hostap-aircrack.

I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask or the openzaurus-devel list or where.
I'll  probably write to the list and see if I get any response.

you can write all that in bugraport too - it will go to OpenEmbedded mailing list then.
