Oz 3.5.4 Release Date?

Curious does the entire tree have to be rebuilt for each machine's ROM?  Is that why it takes so long to get RCs and releases out?

It depends on how you configured OE, but if you use multimachine.inc you can build (on a fast computer of course) OZ for all machines in about half a day (±12 hours). Sorting out the images and kernel + uploading and other small taks takes another day. If you don't use multimachine.inc you will probably spend 8 hours per device compiling.
That doesn't include testing on an actual device, though, which takes the most real time, since you have to do that manually instead of starting it in the morning and check the output the next day.

SL-C3000: Flashing an initrd.bin is not necessary in 3.5.4-RC (hence it isn't provided).

Ok now I am confused so what do I rename the *rootfs.tar.gz file too if not initrd.bin? just want to make sure it works am very eager to get it working.

Hi Mickeyl, would you please add a 64-0 kernel for collie to the 3.5.4RC download area?   Thanks!

I wish there was a way of doing some kind of distributing computing to make a build farm for this sort of stuff.  I know I have machines that could go into it.

Hrw, if you have a chance, please regenerate the file. I've just uploaded the missing collie kernels.

Hello,

any chance to get a 2.6 Image for my borzai?
I am not able to apply all the patches and build a new image...
354.rc1 with 2.6 for borzai would be nice for me.

regards

The RCs are there so that people can test them and any final bugs can be ironed out before a release.

Have a look at the bugs in http://bugs.openembedded.org/ and see what's been reported, etc.

Fixed release dates and projects solely consisting of people who work in their spare time don't really match.

thats right, but where can i see the features that should be with 3.5.4... ?
I remember that 2.6 was on the list, but then removed. So I am unsure if 3.5.4RC1 for Bonzai should inlude 2.6 or not....
Somebody here how can give me a hint?

Regards

Hi,

So far as I can see this RC seems to work fine for my 6000sl except:

1) FN- plus  keys do not work for the top row of the builting keyboard. e.g. 1,2..0 also no "!" but @#$%^&*() -+ are ok. Hmm, seesm as if the keyboard completely stoped resonding after FN+Caps or perhaps NUM....

2) segv's in konqueror but his is probably something else.

otherwise the WLAN stuff is FIXED at long last ,and that neat Wellenrieter tool functions fine too.

So far...
MR
