Hi guys,

Has anyone found a decent cable that will plug into the USB of a PC and into the power socket of the C1000 and charge it?

Yes. Do a search on ebay for PSP USB charging cable. ( The Sony PSP has same voltage, same connector )

You mean something like this

I've been using one off and on now for about a month - used to use the same companies power/sync cable too on my C860.

P.S. this was posted in a thread called "Charging via USB?" in this section of the forum

I can recommend Polarpanda PSP USB charging and syncing cable.

It's made by Kaiyue.

You can make a telnet connection while it charges Z.

See the mini plug.

But be careful and use it own risk. Don't use USB HUB which is contacted to an extra power adaptor. Too much power for mini-b plug can blow your Z.

I would agree with the comment about USB HUB-s. I have bought a mini USB hub, and when measuring the voltage, I have found, that the power supply of the hub gave about 6.1 Volts!

Fortunately I have several small power supplies - so after measuring all of them, I found one which gives 5.03 Volt (and 2 amps). That is the one I use to power the hub (and from the hub I use a PSP USB charging cable), and all is good...

But as a key learning: before I plug the USB charging cable in the Zaurus, I always make sure, that I test the voltage (if I have not tested it before)...

(However, I have not found yet a laptop / PC with too high voltage on the USB port. It is only the USB hubs which are risky)
