I'm using a C1000 and it seemed to crash when I changed the clock and that you have to press and hold down function to get at any special characters, rather than press and release and then press the next key.

Other than that, awesome release :-)

OK, I've just deleted hrw's post and the numerous responses to his post.  I am (as well as many others) getting tired of this crappy behavior from what I would think are respected members of our community.

hrw - your post was thoughtless and disrespectful of the pdaxrom team.  They work hard on their project regardless of whether or not you like it.  PLEASE JUST LEAVE IT ALONE.  We all know that you are an advocate for OZ.

all - constructive conversations are completely acceptable, please just keep in mind a few things:

- don't create a post just to start a flame war
- be respectful of the topic of the thread (start a new thread if your post if off-topic)
- if you're going to start a thread about the the differences of pdaxrom vs. OZ, please do so with a thoughtful/tactful approach

If the tables were reversed I would do the exact same thing.  I respect and support both development teams.  If anyone sees this crap going on elsewhere, please report it to me and it will be dealt with.

I thought of the Z community as an intelligent group individuals who are daring and versitile.  Look at all the z images available.  If it was not for the community, i seriously doubt i would see so many images available such as pdaxrom and etc.

Just remember "we are all in the same boat" and want nothing but the best and most usefull: But of course it is a rough road ahead.  Nothing is rosie!

I try all the roms as they come out and i use the one that best fits my needs.  Hands down to the pdaxrom team in my opinion but I am still waiting for that perfect rc version.  I still flash and i really like what i see.

now i am waiting for that new zaurus to come out into the market and i willf lash my old c1000 with pdaxrom.  The new zaurus will run the stock sharprom until other rom image bugfixes are done.  Can't wait!

Just the usual "my version of linux is better than yours" stuff.  Nothing serious.  Hey just a quick question.  Can the wifi app that guylhem made for his distro work with pdax?  I'd check but after a rm -R * snafu last night I don't have a nand backup of his rom anymore...   Luckily it crashed befor it wiped out my sharp rom backup!  Thought I was in /mnt/card but was actually in /mnt, oops.
What's this button do??

After installing Mplayer1.0-pre7 from the feed, OSSmixer doesn't load anymore.

From console:

#mixmos
Cannot open mixer device
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=96418\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Mplayer1.0-pre7 has the older XFREE as a dependancy, so It tries to re-install this when you install mplayer.  I guess the file with the mixmos bug is in there somewhere?

Here is a bug(?) that I first noticed in rc10, and it has carried over into rc11.

I have partitioned a microdrive with a 512Mb swap partition at /dev/hda1 and an ext2 partition at hda2.

My fstab entries look like this:

/dev/hda2     /mnt/cf     auto     defaults     0  0
/dev/hda1     /              swap     pri=45      0  0

Now, when I boot up, /dev/hda1 is mounted at /mnt/net

Of course I don't have to set up my partitions this way, but it is never the less a bug.  I'll see if I can find the fix and post it for anyone who is interested.

i tried installing it on my c3100 and after repartitioning and installing rom (it said Gratulation, you succesfully .....") it asked if i want to format user partition (which i said yes). after doing this it said "Mount root partition ..." and in the left down corner the cursor is blinking but for about 10 minutes nothing happened.

is it normal?

Is there readme/faq how to upgrade from rc10?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=96246\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

impossible - too much changes in the libraries, applications, etc
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=96247\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

So we need to reflash the original sharp rom and then the pdaxrom?

Thanks

When I try to use USB storage with SD (SL-C1000) using pdaXRom RC11 I get lines like this from dmesg on my fedora 4 PC:

Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi18, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Vendor: Sharp     Model: SL-C1000          Rev: 1.00
Type:   Direct-Access                      ANSI SCSI revision: 00

This is similar to when I use the Sharp ROM to do the same. The difference is, the device sda will mount on my PC when using the Sharp ROM, but with pdaXrom I get "no medium found" when I try to mount it on my PC.

Any ideas? BTW I have upgraded usbdcontrol from the feed and still no result...

Also, in order to come back from suspend, I have to hold in the power button while exiting X then release the button when in the console. then startx again...

When reporting bugs always state your zaurus model!!!

robyinno: No need to install Sharp first - just make a clean install with format of user partion. Installer will ask you.

I've a problem accessing the internal drive of my 3100
i mount manually my hda3 on /mnt/ide3
no problem with this, but if i suspend the Z or play with cf cards, when i want to access /mnt/ide3/Documents/Datas/ the disk stop responding
he spin, but no more, and the green led (access disk) stay always on
and the directory where he can't read anymore is different each time

it's really strange
i've reflashed by hazard, but no more luck, same problem

i'll try more to find an exact behavior for this error to reproduce this
has any C3100 owner the same problem?
maybe it's my disk who is not perfect
