Slide Presentations With Sl-c3000
« on: September 25, 2005, 06:13:15 pm »
Hi,

I found out that a classroom  which may be available  has 'built in' digital projector.  Just plug into your laptop I was told.  Do I need any software in addition to what came on the zaurus?  Would I need some kind of adapter for plugging in?  thanks, Mike

Never done this before but there's plenty of info in the forums (do a search).

You'll have to shell out some more cash.

To plug the Zaurus into a projector you're going to need this thing (IODATA CFXGA card):

Viewing Powerpoint presentations is problematic. The following pricey item can apparently help (Picsel browser for Zaurus SD card); do a search in these forums for more info:

http://www.conics.net/catalog/product_info...&products_id=68

Otherwise, the stock ROM on my C1000 doesn't seem to provide an app for viewing Powerpoint files. The "Presentation" app can't do this unless you export your presentation as a series of JPGs.

You can find Hancom Presenter somewhere on the Web; it allows you to view very simple Powerpoint presentations (no animation, etc.).

Otherwise, do a search on the forums for "Impress" if you use (or are willing to use) OpenOffice.

Good luck...

I thought there was some issue with the 3000 and 3100 that made them incompatible with VGA-out cards. At least Sharp no longer supports it.

you just need to recompile the CFXGA driver for the 2.4.20 kernel and make it use the newer chipset that supports 640x480 screen instead of 320x240. it should be a piece of cake for an expert programmer    (just kidding)
