I purchased what I thought was a SL-5500 off of eBay, but when I got the unit today on the back it says SL-5000. Is this the same thing as an SL-5000D? I can't find any references to just an SL-5000, and everything on Sharp's web site starts with SL-5500 or better... what gives? I get ripped off?

I think the 5000 is the same thing as the 5000D, which means it's a developer version. How much did you pay for it? Iirc, the 5000 only has 32mb of flash space as opposed to 64mb of the 5500. Again, I'm not sure don't quote me on this.

The 5000d is not the same as the 5500. So yes, you had better complain to someone about that disception.

That's pretty much what I figured... I'm not getting too attached to it...most likely will be returning it.... damn ebay.

did you get it from a well known seller? There's not a huge difference between them, however, being sold something you thought was something else...that's a different story.

Again, IIRC, the 5000D has 32mb, where as the 5500 has 64mb, other than that, I don't think there is any difference.

That's quite a bit of difference, I'd send it back. And then wait until a cheap 5600 came around.

I'm shipping it back, seller says they are gonna send me the right model, so it all works out in the end.
