I have been admiring the specs (other than the keyboard) of the Dell Axim X51v , and after checking the aximsite.com forums find that even though their specs are enviable (624 Mhz processor, 256 MB ROM, 16 MB video RAM, and (finally) persistent storage in MS Mobile 5.0) they seem to have the same complaints we do, plus a few extras. (Axims seem to blow USB ports on 44 out of 305 motherboards!) Check out this thread:
Smokey Coincidence and this one:
Lethal Cradle Poll(I am now happier that I do not have one of these Pocket PCs.) They also complain (as we do) about video performance (as compared to desktop video performance), their CF and SD cards seem to occasionally disappear (as some have said of their Zaurus's), tech support, and WIFI difficulties.
So, I guess until we get a little further down the road, we have one of the better devices available. Plus, as we all know, Linux is more resistant to such problems as viruses (or is it virii? or virie?) Anyway, we all love to check the advances of hardware regardless of OS.
If only Sharp would make a 3100 with WIFI, bluetooth, and the 4" screen of the 6000, *AND* the latest Linux kernel!!
