Oh Dear, I'm A Zaurusholic
« on: October 22, 2005, 09:09:18 am »
I got carried away and bought an SL-6000, as I wanted to see for myself whether this shape device was more suited to me than the SL-C860 I already have.

Snag is, I like them both, the 860's compactness, but I love the 6000's bigger display with it's readability, but I don't like the 860's lack of usb host or wifi nor the 6000's bulk.

I meant to sell my Palm T3, when I got the Z (I'm not a power PIM user), but I've still got that and my previous palm, a Sony Clie N770(which has no resale value, but is still pretty good).

I seem to spend far too much time with these PDAs and/or reading this forum. Help! I'm an addict!

In the scheme of things (compared to crystal meth) your teeth won't rot and you won't get hapatitis C.   And Z addiction does not cause brain damage unlike other operating systems and drugs.

At least your "addiction" makes others more productive.  Love KdePIM.  Thx

Looking around at the PDAs (note plural) I have bought to work with me today I can understand your point (although I'm more of a PDAholic than a Zaurusholic).  However, thinking about all the PDAs dotted around the house I probably need more help than you

However, if you decide to sell the c860 I'm only down the road in Beds, and can live without USB host stuff...

I've only had the 860 for a few months (bought new) (I've been a Z wannabe for years!), so on the one hand I'm just getting to grips with it. On the other hand, I'm looking to convert my SL-6000L to a 6000W, and add more flash memory... if I decide to do so, I'll sell the 860; if not, I'll sell the 6000.

Glad to know there's *someone* within 50 miles who also owns a Z. We should have an East Anglia Z users club meeting!

There's someone in Stevenage who has a clamshell (or at least used to - they mentioned it in one of the Z forums a year or two back) so there are others too!

5500, 760 and 1000 in the space of a month: I think I need help

Swing, I've just seen your .sig.  A friend in france wants to buy my 760, but if it falls through I'll let you know - sorry for not noticing sooner, as I'm letting him have it for a silly price.

I just remind my wife that I spend less on PDAs per year than she does on her hair (typically £60 per session, four sessions per year). Anyway, she can't complain, she's getting a nice Ixus 750 for xmas [unless I get really attached to it, in which case she gets my old Olympus digicam]

lol, excellent point  - unfortunately my wife's hair is significantly cheaper, but then again she does have it cut more often so thanks for the perfect defence

The 760 has been sent to France, sorry Swing

No problem, in the short term I've spent the money on a digital SLR anyway, so it'll take a few months to finance one anyway

it's a great excuse, isn't it. And, a Z also keeps us busy and quiet whilst waiting for our wives, e.g. when they're shopping for clothes, having their hair done!

Anyway, I've now made up my mind what to do. I think I'm going sell both of them and buy a 3100.
