Can U Recommend A Bt Cf Card?
« on: October 26, 2005, 02:04:27 am »
Can someone tell me which, (if any), Compact Flash Bluetooth card(s) will definitely work by default with the current (rc3) Rom?

Also, Guyhelm, could you please let me know the exact make and model of your Bluetooth keyboard and mouse? I had asked in my previous thread and I don't believe you ever responded for sure. (Thanks however BarryW for pointing me in a probable direction, I just don't want to throw $230 at a keyboard and mouse combo just to find out I bought the wrong one!)

I'm wanting to go with a bluetooth setup for my 6000L by using a BT cf card in the expansion sled and want to know before I buy what product(s) I should favor. If I'm understanding Guyhelm correctly he actually owns a 6000W with the BT built in, but being an L owner I'm not comfortable with the BT hack route until I hear some success stories back from those who've already tried it.(Also I'm having an almost impossible time finding anyone that is able to do surface mount soldering in my area.

Thanks all!

Hello

Get a BT CF card that you can test (maybe compusa still allows you to plug the cards in your PDA to test them?). I'll compile a module for you and give you instructions on how to test it - if you have a bluetooth "something" (cellphone, ...) it will take 5 minutes and confirm you it'll work fine.

I got the dell version of the thinkoutside/stowaway keyboard, because it's black - it looks much better with my Z :-) I got the black thinkoutside bluetooth mouse.

Guyhelm,

Since my last post in this thread I've purchased and recieved one CF Bluetooth card, and have another BT CF card as well as three different USB Bluetooth Dongles on the way.  (The dongles are hilariously inexpensive through Ebay- I chose a few that have been reported to work for other ppl using other models.)

So hopefully once my C3100 and mouse/keyboard arrive I'll be able to take you up on that offer to help me get them communicating with each other!  Surely ONE of them should be compatible! (I hope.)

I'll let you know once everything has arrived. And as always a heartfelt thanks to my friendly neighborhood Frenchman for all the help!
